Acceptance
By installing, running or using ARCH‑ANGEL ("the Software"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
What ARCH-ANGEL is
ARCH‑ANGEL is a video-processing tool created by dead-angel. It comes in two forms, and which one you use changes who owes you what:
- The hosted service at
YOUR-DOMAIN.com, which we operate. Your video is processed on our servers. These terms govern your use of it. - The self-hosted software, which you install and run on your own hardware. We provide the code; we do not operate anything and hold none of your data.
Where a clause below is marked hosted it applies only to the service we run; self-hosted applies only to your own installation. Everything else applies to both.
If you use an instance somebody else operates, your relationship for service, uptime and data is with that operator, not with us.
The hosted service hosted
- Accounts are created by an administrator. There is no public sign-up. If you want access, request it — we are not obliged to grant it.
- The service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. There is no uptime guarantee, no service credit, and no committed support response.
- Storage and processing are subject to fair use. We may apply limits on upload size, job frequency and stored volume to keep the service usable for everyone, and may tell you to reduce usage.
- If the service is free, we may change or discontinue it. If we discontinue it, we will give account holders reasonable notice and an opportunity to export their clips.
- We may suspend or remove an account that breaks Acceptable use, threatens the service, or exposes us to legal risk — where practical, with notice.
- Keep your own copies of anything you care about. Rendered clips are working output, not a backup service.
Licence to use
You may install and run the Software on machines you control, for personal or commercial work, and modify it for your own use. Whatever licence file accompanies your copy governs redistribution; where these terms and that licence conflict, the licence wins.
You may not remove or misrepresent authorship and credit notices. Credit for ARCH‑ANGEL belongs to angel.
Accounts and the super-admin code
- Accounts are created by a super admin. There is no public sign-up on either the hosted service or a fresh install.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, and you must give accurate details.
- You are responsible for your password and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly if you think it has been compromised.
- Do not share your account. One account is for one person.
- The super-admin code grants full control, including API keys. Rotate the shipped default immediately and treat the code as a credential.
- Operators are responsible for who they give accounts to.
Your content
Source videos, transcripts, clips and metadata are yours. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use them to train models, sell to anyone, or promote anything.
hosted To run the service at all we need permission to do the mechanical things you are asking for: store your upload, transcribe it, cut it, render clips, and — when you press publish — transmit the result to the platform you chose. You grant us a limited licence to do exactly that and nothing more. It ends when you delete the content or your account.
self-hosted Nothing is transmitted to us, so we have no access to your content and need no licence for it.
You are solely responsible for what you feed it and what you publish.
Copyright and the right to clip
This is the part that actually matters. Downloading and re-cutting a video does not give you rights to it.
- Only process material you own, have permission to use, or may lawfully use under an exception such as fair use or fair dealing.
- Those exceptions are narrow, fact-specific and vary by country. Volume and monetisation both count against you.
- Music, footage and third-party clips inside a source video carry their own rights, which do not transfer because you cut a shorter version.
- The bundled sample music and sound effects are provided for convenience; confirm their terms before commercial use.
Platform rules
Publishing features use the official APIs of YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Your use of those APIs is governed by each platform's own terms and developer policies, including rules on reused content, automation, spam and disclosure.
Getting your channel struck, throttled or terminated for how you used the Software is between you and the platform.
Acceptable use
Do not use the Software to:
- Infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights.
- Produce or distribute unlawful material, harassment, or content sexualising minors.
- Create deceptive media presented as genuine, including fabricated statements attributed to real people, or edits that materially misrepresent what someone said.
- Spam platforms, evade rate limits, or operate bulk automated re-upload farms.
- Circumvent technical protection measures or access controls.
- Process personal data unlawfully, or in breach of another person's privacy.
Editing changes meaning. A clip that reverses someone's point is a misrepresentation even when every frame is authentic. That's on you.
Third-party services
The Software can talk to source sites, LLM providers and publishing platforms at your instruction. Their terms, pricing, quotas and privacy policies are their own. Cloud LLM usage costs money — the Software does not cap your spend and the author is not responsible for your bill.
Availability and changes
No uptime commitment is made, for the hosted service or the software. We may take the service down for maintenance, and features may change or be removed between versions.
Third-party APIs — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LLM providers — can change their terms, pricing or behaviour, or withdraw access entirely. That can break an integration through no fault of ours, and is not a defect we owe you a remedy for.
No warranty
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
No promise is made that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that clip selection will be good, that renders will succeed, or that published content will perform.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AUTHOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, CORRUPTED OR DELETED FILES, API CHARGES, PLATFORM PENALTIES OR ACCOUNT TERMINATION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SOFTWARE.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the author from claims, damages and costs arising out of your use of the Software, the content you process or publish, or your breach of these terms or of any third party's rights.
Termination
You may stop at any time — ask us to close your hosted account, or simply delete your own installation.
hosted We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service, or creates legal risk. Where practical we will give notice and a chance to export your clips first; for serious breaches — unlawful content, attacks on the service — we may act immediately. On termination your content is deleted in line with the retention schedule.
The warranty, liability, indemnity and copyright sections survive termination.
Changes to these terms
Updated terms carry a new effective date and version. Because you host the Software, changes only reach you when you update your copy; continuing to use an updated copy means you accept the terms shipped with it.
Governing law and severability
These terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the author resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of mandatory consumer protections where you live. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
